There are many places on the internet where a person can sell websites that are designed and set up and ready to go. These are usually websites selling something for retail and making some money and others not so much.

These websites are bought and sold at websites marketplace. The owner has several websites that have been running for some time but just doesn’t have time to run them all anymore as it is time consuming. Any number of these websites can be put on a marketplace and either placed up for sell or up for bidding in an auction.

Perhaps the website owner just doesn’t have the time to continue to run all he owns. Besides not making money and being time consuming perhaps the owner owns several other websites and he needs to downsize his inventory.

There are people who own many websites and their business is not retail buying and selling but instead their business is buying and selling websites. Owning one website is very time consuming just with keeping up with SEO (search engine optimization) writing and posting articles for marketing of the website. That is just one website; what if the owner has 25 and it just doesn’t make business sense when one is not making that much money. It is probably better to sell several to down size the inventory of none profiting websites.

This can also be done with domains in a domain marketplace and will connect sellers and buyers to get domain names that they want or need for any successful online business presence. Some domain marketplaces also have what is known as domain parking programs where an owner can set some domains that are working well while working on other websites and domains that need promoting.
